What style of kitchen?

When it comes to choosing a new kitchen there are many choices.  What colour? How many units? What accessories? How much it costs? What style?  It can be over whelming which can lead to the wrong choice and an expensive mistake.  There are no easy answers to these questions.  Each person's requirement are different. If it was not like, for what we can afford, we would all drive the same car, wear the same clothes and live in the same houses.  

To ease the purchase process we will create a series of guides to help you understand the choices on offer. These will be publish over the coming weeks and if you are in the market for a new kitchen then hopefully they will help the process.

To start off we will be looking at;

What style of kitchen?

There are many different style of kitchens available within the market place. For this guide we will concentrate on the eight main areas, being;

• Modern kitchens
• Inframe kitchens
• Handleless kitchens
• Painted kitchens
• Shaker kitchens
• Classic kitchens
• Gloss kitchens
• Acrylic kitchens

Some of these styles are interchangeable such gloss and handleless but understanding each different style will ease the decision process.

Modern kitchens

The modern design leads itself to a kitchen with clean lines.  That is a smooth surface to the door with simple design for the handles.  They offer a variety of kitchen unit finishes such as the narrow units on the above picture.

Inframe kitchens

This inframe design separates itself from other kitchen with the door finish.  The door sits within the frame of the kitchen rather than flat to the kitchen units. This is similar to a traditional door separating a room.

Handleless kitchen

As the name suggest it is a kitchen without handles.  It offers a smooth design throughout the kitchen without any protruding handles.  Each kitchen door has a groove and the top or bottom of the door with which it is possible to open the door.  This kitchen design is very popular with open plan living.

Painted kitchen

This range signifies a range of kitchens that can be painted to a choice of colours.  Rather than a laminate finish the door is finishes with actual paint.  This gives a much better finish and enables a wider choice of colours.  In fact it is possible to choose any RAL colour and you kitchen can be provided in that colour.

Shaker kitchen

The shaker style kitchen is the classic looking kitchen that is most common.  It is defined by the panel effect within the kitchen door.  This is a recessed part of the door in the middle which can be seen within the picture above.

Classic kitchen

As the name suggest it is a kitchen which has lasted long in design. It can be combined with a wood design, shown above, which offers a kitchen door with a country style.  This is often combined with the shaker style.

Gloss kitchen

A highly reflective design, shown above, is what defines a gloss kitchen.  These can be combined with our styles such as handleless and painted to offer a very modern and clean looking kitchen.  The reflective light of the door can be used within kitchens which are small to appear to enlarge the kitchen or within dark rooms to which they add more light.

Acrylic kitchen

This is a totally different design of kitchen in that the doors are made from 100% acrylic rather than the traditional method. They can be made in a variety of colours and can be molded to create stunning designs.
